Katie Kauffman was assigned as public defender for my brother, who was charged with Assault 2 (felony). My brother is 69 and not able to think clearly about these things so I took charge of his situation and worked with Katie to achieve the best outcome. Katie was very responsive explaining the optio...ns and answering all of my questions; even on weekends and late at night. Katie was very prompt in contacting me to update me on any new information regarding my brother’s case. Katie was quite the master - she was able to get the prosecuting attorney (PA) to reduce the charge to a Class 4 assault (misdemeanor) and argued successfully to eliminate the no contact order. Ms. Kauffman has proven herself time and again over a course of 14 months.
