I deeply regret retaining this attorney. My experience was devastating.

I retained Adin Johnson during one of the most devastating experiences of my life, involving the loss of my dog and service animal. I cannot adequately express how deeply I regret placing my trust in this representation. Throughout our attorney-client relationship, I repeatedly sought explanati...ons concerning court proceedings, orders, my legal rights, and the circumstances surrounding my dog's eventual adoption. Rather than feeling supported, I frequently felt belittled, dismissed, and treated as though my questions were an inconvenience. I found Mr. Johnson's communication condescending, unnecessarily dismissive, and lacking in the compassion I needed while navigating an incredibly painful situation. I understand that attorneys cannot guarantee outcomes. I never expected him to perform miracles. I expected him to communicate professionally, explain significant developments, and treat me with basic human dignity. My experience fell painfully short of those expectations. What makes this particularly upsetting is that I previously attempted to terminate his representation. Following further discussions, I remained his client. I felt pressured to continue a professional relationship I had already questioned, and I deeply regret doing so. My dog was ultimately adopted out on August 3, 2026. I was devastated. I continued trying to understand what had happened, what options remained available, and whether there were additional avenues for challenging the outcome. I ultimately terminated Mr. Johnson's representation on September 22, 2026. Following termination, I requested my complete client file. His office subsequently provided materials through Dropbox and an additional PDF packet. I acknowledge receiving those materials. However, I continue to have concerns about whether the production fully addressed my requests. His September 30 email was particularly upsetting. In that communication, he stated that his office was "highly motivated to conclude dealings with you." He also wrote, "Thank you in advance for discontinuing any future contact." I had already terminated the representation. I understood that our professional relationship was ending. What I found so distressing was the manner in which my outstanding concerns were addressed. I was attempting to obtain records and understand proceedings involving the loss of an animal I love and depend upon. Reading those statements reinforced how dismissed and unwelcome I had felt throughout the representation. I cannot speak to Mr. Johnson's intentions. I can only describe my experience. I felt that my questions were treated as burdens. I felt that my concerns were not consistently afforded the seriousness they deserved. And I felt profoundly disrespected during a period when I was already experiencing extraordinary emotional distress. There is a fundamental difference between providing difficult legal advice and making a client feel intellectually inferior for needing clarification. An attorney's professional knowledge should be used to help a client understand their circumstances,

Driving infraction

I received a driving infraction while in Vancouver Wa and never hired an attorney before. Merrill law referred me to Philbrook law being out of county. Laura was super nice and so helpful on the phone. My company paid the ticket before I realized it . Since I already hired Philbrook they still went t...o bat for me and Adin was successful in getting the ticket dismissed anyway. Thanks so much!

Dismissed Speeding Ticket

Adin did a great job, my speeding ticket was completely dismissed. I only had to pay, provide the necessary information needed for the case, and the rest was taken care of.

"Adin Johnson is a very respectable attorney here in Clark County. I have known Adin both professionally and personally, and cannot attest enough to how great of an attorney he is, as well as a general great person. If you're looking for someone who will make you feel heard, provide effective communication, and be with you through the whole process, then look no further. Adin does work in Clark County primarily, but can assist in surrounding counties and state wide if need be. With experience in both a prosecutor's office, and working now as a criminal defense attorney, his input and work into cases goes above that of a standard defense attorney. In summary, I endorse Mr. Johnson in his practice and would recommend to any seeking aid in their criminal defense."

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
