Both she and her paralegal Sherry are an unorganized chaotic mess. The paralegal is rude, unprofessional and it’s hard to believe she’s made it this far for so long. There are nothing but excuses as to why April can’t do things because she has “8-9 children” excuses, typos on emails, forgotten inform...ation, absolutely should be reported. She’s not doing her job. Should have trusted the google reviews that outlined similar experiences. Do better. Don’t waste your money here this “attorney” is distracted by her personal life.

I met with a few law firms to represent me in a difficult divorce/custody case. My ex had all the money. I'm disabled and get below poverty level money from the SSA. He makes six figures. He and his attorney tried to low-ball me (paying next to nothing for short term for a long term marriage). ...Other firms I checked out weren't sympathetic to my case as I didn't have a lot of money to spend. The Law Office of April L. Thomas was my choice. I'm not sure what I did to deserve such excellent representation, but I received it anyway. April and Eric are fantastic. VERY knowledgeable about family law, very compassionate to clients and no nonsense dealing with difficult opposition. I don't think my case would have gone so well without this firm. I admit to being slow to do anything, but their patience and guidance made a difficult process bearable. As for those who negatively review (very few, mind you) my bet is that it's those who've lost their case AGAINST April's clients. April is that good of an attorney. I'm glad my ex isn't her biggest fan...it just means she went above and beyond to win my case against overwhelming odds. I felt perfectly safe with April and Eric's knowledge of the law and knowing when to act, and when to let the other side make fools of themselves. And they were correct every time.

April is an outstanding lawyer, I can't believe Avvo ranked her at such a small number. My husband and I have been battling my husband's ex wife in and out of court for 4 years. We have had another lawyer and even represented ourselves one year. I have never met a more caring lawyer to her clients... and other people as well. Although compassionate, April Is fueled with a righteous fire in doing what she does best, bringing justice! She kept in contact with us throughout the entire year and always made us feel important. When April knew we had grounds to file my husband's ex in contempt, she drafted paperwork right away and went above and beyond. We were looking out for what was best for my stepson, and with April's help, the judge ruled in my husband's favor. She advised us only to act upon something legally when we actually had a chance, never once did she make us feel it was about the money. I recommend April and her law firm 100% no hidden agendas or fees. Real honesty and compassion!
