Too busy for small cases

I had an eviction case that I had reached out to him about. We spoke and he said he could help and asked me for the rental contract and said he would draft the notice in a few days and get back to me. I waited and waited, emailed to follow-up and didn't hear back. Called the office and was told he wa...s on vacation and would be back in a week. They said that another attorney is handling his cases while he is out and if I would like to talk to her. I don't recall her name, but it started with a B, maybe Brittany???. Anyhow, left her a voice message and never heard back. He called me about 3 days after he was back and said he would get the notice out tomorrow. Again he didn't deliver, again I follow-up, few days later he would call and promise he would get it tomorrow, this went on for 3 weeks. Finally I emailed him and said to forget it, that I'll be going to a different attorney. About 4 days later the lady whom I had left a message with while he was on vacation and never returned my call, called and said that Rich asked her to call me, so she could take over the case as he didn't have time. Not sure why either one of them thought I would want to continue to work with her when she was worse than him in returning messages. I shouldn't be following up for an attorney to do their job. You didn't want to work on a small cases fine, you could have just said so and I could have saved time and money and looked somewhere else, as I did after a month trying to work with you.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
