John Joseph Sinclair

Mr. Sinclair has been a lawyer since 1979 and started this law firm 1983. He retired and moved to San Francisco in June of 2012.  Paull Strophy is now the senior partner of the firm.  Mr. Sinclair remains as a conultant.

Before 1983, Mr. Sinclair was an administrator with the State Department of Corrections. He has extensive criminal and business litigation experience, and has also argued several cases before the State Supreme Court. Mr. Sinclair is rated high to very high by Martindale & Hubbell, a national independent rating publication.

As part of his private practice, he was regularly involved in teaching various legal related classes. Mr. Sinclair was an adjunct professor at Centralia College in 1983-1984 and a trainer for the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission since 1981. Mr. Sinclair has also presented continuing education classes for the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association and the Washington Association of Criminal Defense . Sinclair graduated from San Francisco State University in 1976 and from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington in 1979. 

He is admitted to practice before the following courts: United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, State of Washington Supreme Court, and State of California Supreme Court. He is licensed to practice in all courts in Washington and California.

Mr. Sinclair is a member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL) and was elected to the Board of Directors for that organization for the two year term 2006‑2008 and re-elected 2008-2010. Mr. Sinclair is also a member of the National Association of Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and a member of the Criminal Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association.
