Chester Baldwin is the principal attorney of Baldwin Legal Group, PLLC in Olympia, with more than 20 years of experience in Washington courts.
He began his career as a Former Thurston County Rule-9 Prosecutor, handling impaired driving cases from the State's side of the table. He now defends them. That background shapes how the firm approaches every DUI: the traffic stop, the field sobriety testing, the breath test calibration and maintenance records, and the negotiation itself, because he knows how the other side builds and values a case.
Washington gives you seven days from a DUI arrest to request a Department of Licensing hearing. Miss it and your license suspension proceeds automatically, separate from anything that happens in criminal court. That deadline is why the firm takes DUI calls seven days a week.
The firm also handles LLC and business entity formation for Washington owners who want an attorney structuring the company rather than an online filing service, including operating agreements, multi-member ownership terms, and federal beneficial ownership reporting.
He graduated with Honors from the University of Washington Foster School of Business with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Business Computer Information Systems, and concurrently earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from the UW School of Public Health and Community Medicine. He worked as a financial analyst and healthcare consultant at Mercer Human Resource Consulting before earning his Juris Doctorate with Honors from Seattle University School of Law. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Thurston and Pierce County Bar Associations, and is admitted to practice in Federal Court.

Most honest and hardworking lawyer I've ever known.
Chester has helped me on multiple occasions. He helped my wife and I with our bankruptcy with a colleague who specializes in them. Everything went perfectly. He also cleared up a traffic camera infraction that showed up in the mail. I wasn't even in the state on the day that they said I ran that ligh...

Strong Fighter
Chester refused to take the bad offers given by the prosecutors. He fought for my case including taking the case all the way to trial...where he sounds beat the prosecutor on my DUI case. He is really smart and knows the law and did a fantastic job!
"I endorse this lawyer's work. He works hard. Chet does not take the easy way out, he fights for his clients. He takes representing his cases seriously and with high integrity."
