Biography:
During high school Travis was focused on getting out of Montana and seeing the world. After the fall of communism and the collapse of the Soviet Bloc crushed his desire to serve on the Berlin Wall; Travis decided to join the Navy. “The Navy was, and still is in my opinion, the best place for a young person to discover their full potential.” said Travis. During his time in the Navy, he was given the opportunity to work with all of the wonderful staff of the legal department on his ship as a Master-at-Arms, and this nurtured his ambition to become an attorney. It was also during this time that he had the opportunity to work in the Puget Sound and fell in love with the region and its people.
During undergraduate and law school, he worked to support his family at various positions including UPS, the Boilermaker’s Union, several property management and construction firms and caring for the handicapped as a CNA. These experiences left him with a deep appreciation for what is required to make-ends-meet and the difficulties inherent in providing the best for your family during hard times.
Taking advantage of every opportunity to learn, Travis worked hard at his studies and earned high honors in his undergraduate courses, and in pursuit of a well-rounded legal education, completed many more credits of learning than were required to graduate from law school.
Travis is an honest and straightforward advocate for his clients and is unafraid to aggressively advance their interests. He understands that, “At the end of the day, I have to justify my time and actions, not only to my clients, but to myself and our society as well.” said Travis. He strives to always be responsive to his client’s questions and concerns and prides himself on being available for them on their time schedule. He acknowledges that not everyone works 9 to 5 schedules and for those that don’t, they deserve something more than a 9 to 5 attorney.
Travis has practiced exclusively in Family Law as an attorney and would not have it any other way. “The field of Family Law has offered me some of the most challenging, frustrating, but ultimately rewarding experiences of my life. I left the Navy to pursue a career that would allow me to engage with others and have a positive impact on their lives; our law offices gives me the opportunity to see this goal become a reality.” said Travis.

Travis Groves will be my "go to" attorney from now on
Travis Groves provided me with child support and parenting plan modification assistance, in an unusual case, where I, as the non-custodial parent (the father) filed for the modification as my ex (the mother) was dragging her feet about doing a legal modification, in attempt to coerce me to forgive he...

excellent Family Lawyer
Travis was very helpful of my child support case. He always informed me of what was happening and explained things to me in detail. I will for sure be hiring him in the future for any family matters that happen.

No-nonsense lawyer
This lawyer was helpful with my case regarding custody of my children and the relocation my ex was trying to do without following any of the proper channels to do it. Mr. Travis Groves is a good lawyer and he is not going to jerk you around. I feel like his motivation is not losing, but if he's on...
This matter was an example of the course of events self correcting themselves when the courts previously awarded custody...shortsightedly. Although I had nothing to do with the first court action it was a pleasure and honor to assist in righting the situation. This was a case which required quick and decisive action right-away and I was blessed to have the client's co-operation, trust and willingness to do what I asked of her; when I asked it of her. This matter is also an example of leaving the matter after successful temporary orders and coming back when trial became necessary. This allowed the client to save the funds necessary for the place where it mattered...trial. P.s. When she says a$*hole believe it! I don't mince words and I like to win, so sometimes this requires a thick skin and ability to understand there is a method to the manner I approach matters.

Horrible experience with Travis Groves!
I had a horrible experience with Mr. Groves! He completely misrepresented his experience level to me. Forgot TWICE to put his phone on silent when we went befoe commisioners. Really ticked them off! He was about seven months post passing the bar and completely tricked me about his expertise and ex...
This matter was heard several years ago. I cannot claim I have never forgot to turn my phone off, but I don't recall doing it twice, nor has the court ever been upset with me doing so. The court didn't grant the request for restraints because they felt she knew of his issues and condoned them. We felt it was an awful decision and filed for revision. This matter was successfully resolved by our office. I have worked with our firm since 2006 after graduating law school at UW in 2003. I worked real estate until the decline after 2008 and passed the bar in 2009. At the time of this matter I believe I had several years experience, on my own cases, and many more assisting with others as paralegal. My representation was appropriate at all times in this matter.

Hiring Travis Groves Will Be a HUGE Mistake
I hired Travis Groves to tackle a cross-state custody case. Paid him $5000 retainer right away, to which he used up within a month, and asked for more after crashing and burning hard on my case. After all was said and done, this man charged $7000 total for the most ineffective performance I've ever...
