Biography:
During high school Travis was focused on getting out of Montana and seeing the world. After the fall of communism and the collapse of the Soviet Bloc crushed his desire to serve on the Berlin Wall; Travis decided to join the Navy. “The Navy was, and still is in my opinion, the best place for a young person to discover their full potential.” said Travis. During his time in the Navy, he was given the opportunity to work with all of the wonderful staff of the legal department on his ship as a Master-at-Arms, and this nurtured his ambition to become an attorney. It was also during this time that he had the opportunity to work in the Puget Sound and fell in love with the region and its people.
During undergraduate and law school, he worked to support his family at various positions including UPS, the Boilermaker’s Union, several property management and construction firms and caring for the handicapped as a CNA. These experiences left him with a deep appreciation for what is required to make-ends-meet and the difficulties inherent in providing the best for your family during hard times.
Taking advantage of every opportunity to learn, Travis worked hard at his studies and earned high honors in his undergraduate courses, and in pursuit of a well-rounded legal education, completed many more credits of learning than were required to graduate from law school.
Travis is an honest and straightforward advocate for his clients and is unafraid to aggressively advance their interests. He understands that, “At the end of the day, I have to justify my time and actions, not only to my clients, but to myself and our society as well.” said Travis. He strives to always be responsive to his client’s questions and concerns and prides himself on being available for them on their time schedule. He acknowledges that not everyone works 9 to 5 schedules and for those that don’t, they deserve something more than a 9 to 5 attorney.
Travis has practiced exclusively in Family Law as an attorney and would not have it any other way. “The field of Family Law has offered me some of the most challenging, frustrating, but ultimately rewarding experiences of my life. I left the Navy to pursue a career that would allow me to engage with others and have a positive impact on their lives; our law offices gives me the opportunity to see this goal become a reality.” said Travis.

Straighforward, Fair and Professional
There is So much I could say about Travis Groves, but what immediately comes to mind is he knows the law. Travis is fair and straight forward, he tells you like it is and what to expect and just gives it to you raw and uncut. If you like a lawyer that won’t beat around the bush and at times can bring...
The Coleman's were excellent clients who "got it", and that is the focus is always on the child(ren). They understood the realities of the adversarial system we have in place in family law matters and worked with me to achieve the best co-parenting solution that was possible. I want to clarify that no attorney can guarantee how a court will rule and while I give my opinion on how I feel the court would rule, given certain factors, I can never guarantee a court would rule in any given situation.

Honest and direct
Travis reviewed my case and gave detailed advice about the best way to handle it. His direct approach and cut to the chase manner calmed my nerves and got me to focus on the specifics. I only wish that I had been more detailed in my notes as it is easy to get bogged down in the legal jargon and paper...

Great lawyer!
I would like to start off by saying thank you to Travis. I went in to his office and was greeted by his sweet big dopey dog which put me at ease immediately. I was so nervous about an upcoming court date I had but his knowledge of the system and his candor gave me clear direction on how to approach...

Brutally, yet refreshingly, honest
I was left by my children’s father and had been a stay-at-home for nearing 10 years. I walked in to my consultation with Mr. Groves knowing absolutely nothing on the where/when/how/why of what I needed. He looked me in the eye, gave me a brutally honest rundown of what I needed to think about and con...
