Awarded "Best of 2018 Divorce Lawyer." I have been a lawyer for over twenty-eight years, because I thoroughly enjoy helping others. From January 2011 to April 2013, I served as a Pierce County Superior Court Commissioner. I presided over family law, probate/estate, guardianship, mental illness, juvenile court, landlord tenant, mortage foreclosure, and other matters. I chose to leave the bench and to return to private practice. I missed lawyering and directly helping others. I still occasionally serve as Pierce County Superior Court Commissioner Pro Tempore.
My practice focuses primarily on divorce, legal separation, child custody, and child support issues. I represent clients in high-conflict litigation as well as in collaborative mediation. I also serve as a mediator. My prior experience as a social worker and my mediation skills are essential to helping others to handle stress and to focus on long-term goals.
Serving on the bench has sharpened my ability to present an objective perspective and to assist a potential client in evaluating outcomes. I provide an initial free one half hour consultation. After that, I charge my pro-rated hourly rate. My goal is to clearlyl explian the applicable law, our court system, the processes of divorce and legal separation, the available roptions (uncontested, contested-litigated, and contested collaborative), and the like. I want to answer all of your questions and help you to create an action plan.
I have served as President of our county bar association, and I am a founding member of Collaborative Professionals of Pierce County. I continue to be involved with a variety of boards and committees. When I am not busy with clients or bar association activities, I enjoy time with my husband, my many pets, and my piano.

Wendy E Zicht
Divorces are stressful, emotional, a financial burden and there are legal aspects that just don’t make sense or seem fair. I tried representing myself only to find opposing attorney trying to take advantage of me, that is when I turned to the law office of Wendy Zicht. Wendy started off just advising...
"I endorse this lawyer. I endorse this lawyer. An excellent experienced attorney and past local bar president."
"Wendy expertly represents divorce, child custody and other domestic law clients. She has over 20 years experience, including on the Superior Court bench as a Commissioner. You won't find a more balanced and knowledgeable family lawyer than Wendy."
"I endorse this lawyer. She is solid, confident and will give you excellent direction in your case."
"I endorse this lawyer. Wendy has done it all - served on the bench, years of grindingly difficult family law - and she keeps disputes in perspective and focuses on resolving matters without getting into the drama of fighting with the opponents attorney. I think she charges a reasonable fee as well. Although I do not presently practice family law, I did for many years, and my work resulted in the somewhat landmark Division II Court of Appeals published opinion "In re the marriage of Choate" - so I know my way around a family law case. Wendy is just fantastic - give her a call! James H. MaGee, atty - the "King" of Chapter 7 & 13 Bankruptcy in King, Pierce, Lewis, Mason and Thurston counties."
"Wendy is a superb negotiator. She is very detail-oriented and always meticulously prepared for any case. I highly recommend her for any divorce matter, especially with complex property issues."
"I know Wendy through professional affiliations and as opposing counsel on cases. She is the ultimate professional with a complete understanding of the law and high ethical standards. I have observed her argue cases in court, where she was always well prepared and thorough. Wendy is a zealous advocate for her clients' best interest and achieves great outcomes. She is also passionate about the practice of family law and has devoted countless hours and energy to our Bar Association to improve legal services and our organization. I strongly endorse her personally and professionally."
