Sara Humphries’ practice focuses on civil litigation, appellate law, and family law. Sara is particularly well prepared, earning an advanced degree (LL.M.) focusing on constitutional law, federal courts and appellate advocacy.
As a family law attorney, Sara's emphasis is on prenuptial agreements, as well as child dependency and parental rights.
Sara received her BA from Queens University of Charlotte in 2000, and her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2003. In 2011 Pennsylvania State University awarded her the LL.M. (Legum Magister) advance law degree.
She clerked with two law firms during her coursework, starting in 1998.
Sara moved to Kitsap County in 2005 and rapidly became a part of our community. She was invited to join the board of Kitsap Legal Services in 2012 and she combined that with acting as a volunteer attorney. In 2018 the Kitsap Bar Association awarded her their annual Humanitarian Award for this work. Though she no longer serves on the board of KLS, she continues to volunteer.
Her experience with pro bono work in tenants law with KLS was invaluable in winning a $332,000 jury verdict for a Kitsap small business as a part of a GSJones Law Group litigation team.
Her many years as a foster parent adds practical insight to her legal knowledge in child dependency law. Sara enjoys spending time with her family, singing and volunteering in her church and community.
