Kenneth Jensen Wolfley

My father, Lane J. Wolfley, opened his law practice in 1979. My brother, Joseph, joined him in 2011.  I, Kenneth Wolfley, am pleased to announce that I will be joining them in the family law firm.  My practice will focus on the areas of Federal, State, and Local Tax Law, Estate Planning, and Business Law.

Before law school, I was a construction management professional. I was a key member of a team charged with assuring that projects finish on time and on budget. I assured that construction accurately reflected the design and specifications.

After working in the construction industry, I decided to attend Willamette University College of Law so I could put my construction and legal skills to work as an advisor for construction companies. The time I have spent earning my Juris Doctorate, Certificate of Business Law, and LLM in Taxation confirms this desire, but I want to do more to assist businesses in my community.

As a tax attorney, I provide tax-planning support, helping individuals and organizations make financial decisions with an eye on the possible tax benefits or penalties that those moves would create in the future. I offer more specialization in the legal questions of tax planning. Tax planning encompasses such areas as trusts, estate planning, investments, business and personal expenses, payroll, business structure and self-employment. 

I can prove useful to a person or entity that needs to defend itself on a tax-related issue. Whether a client is bringing a case against or are be audited by the IRS or Wash. Dept. of Rev., I can handle the legal tax challenges.  Some common reasons for the IRS to audit are: failure to report income, under reporting income, failure to file return, and failure to pay tax due.  

I do not recommend facing either the IRS or Wash. Dept. of Rev. alone.  Audits start usually with a narrow focus, but the wrong thing said or too much information provided can lead authorities to expand their search.  I can help.
