If I could give a negative star I would. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN. He took my money and never returned my phone calls after he said he would. All he is after is money, because " I'm retiring" I have never been in trouble before and didn't know the system. He didn't even want to represent me and told me I... didn't need a lawyer and to just plead guilty. So I did. Now I have lost my house, my car and my job because I do not have transportation to work anymore. Stay away from this guy.

I had a speeding ticket, for which I needed assistance. Arag referred me to John D Black, and I am glad that they did. I called him once and he informed me that he will take care of it and I should get a mail once the hearing is done. 2 weeks later I received the mail which said that the ticket was d...ismissed. I would recommend contacting him via phone during business hours.

I retained John Black for a relatively simple criminal matter and ended up retaining a different lawyer after several weeks. I couldn't deal with the complete lack of communication and lack of responses to simple questions, lack of answers to emails, and lack of returned phone calls. It was way too ...stressful. My retainer I paid him was wasted but dealing with him and his receptionist was way too stressful. One of the questions I had for him that I was not able to get an answer to was "when is my court date." It was apparent when I talked with him that he wasn't even reading emails I sent him. Other people have had different experiences, my experience could be because he is currently running for office.

I contacted John to help me with two traffic violations I received in Clallam County. I spoke to John twice over a period of 4 months, even though I called dozens of times trying to get everything sorted. His secretary would always tell me, "ill have John call you" and then never did. I made three at...tempts to pay him, though because of the poor communication he has between himself and his secretary she was trying to way over charge me for the service which John and I discussed a price. I did not hear from John for almost a month after my hearing had taken place, in which time I had no idea whether or not he appeared or if I had a warrant out for my arrest because he did not. After almost a month I got a letter in the mail explaining the results of my hearing. He was able to get the traffic violations dropped or deferred, and that is the only reason he gets two stars. The price was fair and the service was done but if you have something more serious and need an attorney that actually talks to you, hire someone else.

John is very knowledgeable and professional. He was extremely knowledgeable concerning an eviction of drug dealers squatting on our property. He did all the correct paperwork for a reasonable price. He also worked with the prosecutor to have a charge reduced to a misdemeanor when a situation arose c...oncerning a confrontation with this drug dealer. John cares about his clients.
