Megan Nicole Bent

I had a good initial consultation visit with Megan and thought everything was good. Unfortunately, she dropped the ball on my post-divorce custody and expense reimbursement case. After working with her for several months, I found out she was moving away from a draft email sent by the firm. There w...as no follow-up email from her or her staff providing assurances that nothing would get lost in the transition to another attorney at the firm. This came across as very impersonal and made me feel unimportant as a client. Dropped the ball... Megan had what she needed to pursue reimbursement for child-related expenses and retirement back pay in August '24. Yet when she left in November, nothing had been pursued at all. Now, it's January, and I still have nothing. When I asked about the delay, she said she was working on my custody part. To be clear, even though she had everything she needed for months to pursue reimbursement, nothing had been done to help me collect the money I had already been ordered. To my knowledge, not even one email was sent to opposing counsel in an attempt to collect the funds. Megan also did not present oral arguments in my case very well. For example, when the opposing counsel would cite incorrect pertinent facts in my case, Megan would not rebut. When I later asked her why, she told me that the Commissioner didn't invite her to speak further on the issue, so she didn't. For these reasons, I cannot recommend Megan for complex family law cases or ones that require oral arguments.

Megan professionally guided me through a very contentious, complex, and lengthy divorce process. Throughout the process, she kept the process moving and as efficient as possible, despite opposing counsel’s lack of legal knowledge and best efforts to drag things out. I highly recommend Megan and cou...ld not have done it without her and her expertise.

With limited experiences of having to work with attorney's I am so glad that I hired and got to work with Megan and her team. Her professionalism throughout my divorce journey was superior. She explained things to me with all possible out comes and never told me false information nor did she try and ...sugar coat things for me. Megan has been my divorce lawyer since 2019 and has been a vital part of the process that followed. She is processional in the court room and extremally punctual. She is organized and responds to emails and calls, and really fights for her clients. More importantly, in this type of field, she became... a friend and a fighter in my corner. Divorce is something that more often than not is a difficult transition for those involved. My divorce was difficult to say the least. I faced many obstacles and would’ve been floundering through the process without attorney Megan Bent. She made an unbearable process manageable. She was there every s...tep of the way and guided me through a process I would’ve never made it through alone. I felt as though she treated my children and I as individuals instead of just another case. She checked on us regularly to make sure everything was clear and outlined and what I could expect next. There were many periods where she had to encourage opposing counsel and never hesitated to do so in a direct yet professional manner. While this is a life event I hope to never experience again, if I do there is no doubt that will again retain Attorney Bent’s services.
