From 1977 to 1988 Mr. Pettus worked for the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C., as Counsel to the Committee on Rules, U.S. House of Representatives, and Counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee. From 1988 to 1995 he was a Partner in the Washington, DC law firm of Preston Gates Ellis & Rouvelas Meeds (now K&L Gates). Mr. Pettus has affiliations with law firms in Washington, DC, Shanghai and Beijing.
He is a member of the Washington State and District of Columbia Bars and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
