Not ever having the training needed to be a successful landlord, I took it upon myself to handle the paperwork on my own. I mean how hard could it be, just fill out the papers and everything would work out fine. Not true! I rented to a co-worker and his family, who took advantage of my ignorance a...nd proceeded to destroy my property, not to mention not paying rent.
