Diego helped me navigate USCIS for a green card... TWICE!
Diego has successfully and smoothly helped me through the green card process twice, first in 1995, and then again in 2013 (after I returned to my own country in 2006). In both cases he was clear and thorough in his instruction and recommendation; able to guide me through the path of least resistance...

a true professional
"DIEGO GAVILANES, my attorney for many years has taken care of 3 cases for me in the past. Diego positively resolved 2 immigration cases and one very difficult and serious personal injury case involving my son David. In all instances he was highly professional and effective. His dedication, personal ...

Good representative
I needed to change my wive's immigration status from tourist to resident. Diego was patient and courteous through out the whole process. Not only was he professional but very friendly. Everything went smoothly and happened very fast.

Waste of time/money
I expected more from someone who I am paying 200 to 250 dollars per hour. I arrived on time to my meeting and Diego was 35 minutes late. Within the first 15 minutes of the meeting Diego decided to take a call from his IT guy and dragged the conversation on - the solution was simple Diego's computer...
I sincerely regret that you felt disappointed with the service received during our initial consultation. We strive to provide best legal advice to every single one of our clients. Your appointment was preceded by a consultation with an existing client which took longer than planned. This overlapped into the time slot that had been reserved for your appointment. When this happens, consultations can be free of charge. We gladly compensated for this delay by spending an extra hour with you free of charge, as you have acknowledged. Additionally, we refunded your $200 consultation fee, which you accepted. We also sent you a letter inviting you to return to our office for a follow up session regarding your case, at no additional charge. We always encourage clients to avoid distractions during our meetings so they can benefit fully from our service and legal advice. You acknowledged in your remarks that your six month old baby was a distraction. Your case required thoughtful evaluation and coherent legal advice which I provided based on the facts and the applicable law. From your comments, it seems my advice was completely disregarded. We wish you best of luck and a good outcome.
"Excellent Attorney with Impeccable Character I have known Mr. Gavilanes personally and professionally since 2014. In the five years that I have known him, he has demonstrated impeccable legal judgment, community engagement, and a high caliber of professionalism. I have referred many of my clients to his office for personal injury cases, and he is the only attorney in the area that I trust to refer these cases to, especially for those from the Latino/a community. I have also trusted Mr. Gavilanes with my own personal injury case, for which I am extremely grateful for his assistance and his responsiveness at every step of the process. I highly recommend his services."
"I worked alongside Diego at a Citizenship Day event in Mount Vernon. He is upbeat, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. Great immigration attorney."
"I endorse this lawyer. I worked for Diego when I was studying to take the bar examination after finishing law school more than 30 years ago. He was smart, hard working and a tireless advocate for his clients. He encouraged me to work with him on an apartment fire case involving the death of a young child. That experience influenced my career. He is a mentor and a great lawyer!"
"I have known Diego for over 30 years. He was just fresh out of law school working for the downtrodden and poor at the now defunct Evergreen Legal Services. As he branched out to his own private practice, I have worked with him jointly with dissolution cases that included immigration issues. Diego has referred cases to me and I have referred cases to him as I find his work to be superior. I trust Diego and have no problem in endorsing my long time friend and peer."
"I endorse this lawyer. Mr Gavilanes is a great attorney. Not only do I know him as a fellow attorney and I have referred many matters to him with great outcome, but I also know him as my attorney. He did my immigration for me and it went very smoothly and it made the process real easy. I would definitely recommend him."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Diego for over 30 years and once worked in the same law firm for about five years. He is one of the most ethical, honest and conscientious lawyers I know. He strives to do the right thing. I also consider him my friend."
"Diego has many years of experience in immigration law and is very knowledgeable. He cares about his clients and knows how to help. I endorse this lawyer."
