Great communication

I hired Shay for my child support modification. The process was smooth and completed in a couple of weeks (the other party was joint filing). Shay emailed me with updates and I always knew where we were in the process. She also provided me with some good advice on the what to do if I were to ever ...change the parenting plan which I really appreciated. I would not hesitate to work with her again.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I worked with Ms. Story on a complicated family law matter. As opposing counsel she was a pleasure to work with. She pushed hard for her client, as I did for mine. In the end the case settled in mediation. It was a pleasure working with her across the table and I have referred clients with difficult issues since."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
