This former client has not accurately stated the facts here. While the rules of client confidentiality prevent me from explaining the details of this matter, I can say that the former client had claims against multiple parties in Washington and another state. I advised the client to talk to an attorney in the other state to see if a lawsuit in that state would be worthwhile. The former client did this and the attorney in the other state decided a lawsuit there would be worthwhile. That is why the client ended up launching a lawsuit in another state.
