I hired Karma to fight a child custody relocation case for me. I emailed Karma 5 times leading up to the deadline, none of which were returned and she missed the filing deadline by one day and failed to issue the summons to the opposing party by *weeks*. In court, Karma admitted it was 100% her fau...lt and the judge had to award relocation as a result (per WA law). I then fired Karma and retained another attorney. To add insult to injury, Karma insisted on getting paid for her failure to adequately represent me, and never once apologized for her failings. Find another attorney.

The best attorney I've ever used Through a very long and painful divorce/custody fight, I've employed three different attorneys. Two for my divorce case and Karma for my custody fight. I can easily say...with no hesitation...that I WISH I'd have found Karma earlier. Had she been my divorce attorn...ey, I wouldn't have had to go through the custody fight!! She is a quick study of the situation and can get the lay of the land down easily. She "gets" the idiosyncrasies of dealing with both the crazy ex, the crazy ex's attorney AND the court. After being told by my 2nd divorce attorney that I'd "NEVER" get full custody of my kids, I wasted two additional years of my life watching them be put through hell with their father. When I decided to try again, Karma said she couldn't believe the ex had any custody (he had a DV conviction and the guardian ad litem recommended only supervised visits) and we'd do all we could to get it done right. Knew almost everything right off, but didn't hesitate to research and dig up cites when needed. Wrote one killer brief, in particular, in very short order. Very well considered, good advice, chose good approaches to difficult issues, minimizing time and effort while maximizing results. In general bil...lings very reasonable, given that she is...a lawyer. ;-) Also very pleasant to work with. Only marked her down a little cause when I worked with her she had young children, wasn't working full time so I sometimes had to wait a day (maybe two on one occasion?) for a response.
