Our Banktruptcy started with another law firm. I could NEVER get a return email or phone call for any questions I had from that firm after our bankruptcy was filed and paid for. I got so fustruted, I eventually gave up trying to contact anyone. When my husband and I were looking at separation and ...separating our chapter 13, I was told from another lawyer that the second lien was never filed to be stripped after the bankruptcy was over - which is what they "sold" us on the most with going this way because we could get rid of our second mortgage by doing a 13. If that lien strip was not filed, that second mortgage could come back to us WITH deliquencies after the 5 years was over!!!!! I called our old law firm just to be told that the bankruptcy part of their firm was taken over by Thomas Brixius law firm. Again, felt like I was getting the run around.......well, Tom and his assistant Stephanie were finally the professionals I was looking for. Not only did Stephanie give me so much knowledge herself over the phone, she made sure to tell me she was not the attorney and she would have Tom call me. I figured yea right....I'll hear from him maybe after I called back 2-3 times. I was so pleased to get a call from Tom within 10 minutes of hanging up with Stephanie. Since then, we have been treated like clients and not someone that just bought a used car. Tom and Stephanie have both had only our best interests at heart. They have given us such a great price because they know we are trying to separate and there is not a lot of money there in the first place. Tom tried to meet with us in Renton, which would be better for us, but ultimately, we did travel to his office in Tacoma. To get the service we got from Tom, it was a no brainer to travel to him. He took the time and patience to explain everything to us. He even filed the lien strip on the second mortgage that SHOULD have been filed by the first law firm at NO CHARGE!!!!!! Tom NEVER once had any bad words for the old law firm, but just handleled everything professionaly and said it should have been done but wasn't so he will take care of it. I know he is taking a loss on doing this work that another law firm should have done, even though it was not his fault, he took the responsibility and took care of it for us. I cannot thank Thomas Brixius and Stephanie enough for bringing back my faith in lawyers who are not out just for your initial payment but for your whole expierince and interest. If anyone asks me for a bankctrupcty attorney - no brainier!!! Thomas Brixius!!!

I RETAINED THIS LAW FIRM TO ASSIST ME AND REVIEW MY FINANCES FOR POTENTIAL BANKRUPTCY. THE FIRM CONVINCED ME TO FILE A CHAPTER 13 BANKRUPTCY. WHILE THOMAS DIDN'T DO THE FILING HE WAS ASSIGNED TO MY CASE AFTER THE INITIAL ATTORNEY LEFT THE FIRM. WHILE I WAS PROMISED THAT MY HOME OWNERS DUES AND LIE...N AGAINST MY HOME WOULD BE INCLUDED AND ADDRESSED, THEY WERE NOT. WHEN WE WERE IN COURT I WAS EMBARRASSED AS I WAS REPRESENTED AND THERE WERE MISTAKES THAT MY ATTORNEY HAD MADE THAT THE COURT ASKED TO BE FIXED... I EMAILED ALL THE CORRESPONDENCE AND PROMISES TO MR. BRIXIUS AS MY ATTORNEY TO CORRECT THE HOME OWNER ASSOCIATION ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WOULD NEED TO BE A MODIFICATION AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO AGAIN PROVIDE MORE FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS THAT I HAD ALREADY PROVIDED DUPLICATES OF MULTIPLE TIMES. I KEPT EMAILS AND SENT FINANCIALS AS ATTACHMENTS TO KEEP MY PAPER TRAIL AS THEY LOST DOCUMENTS A FEW TIMES AND DELAYED MY FILING.... ANOTHER ISSUE AROSE WITH THE BANK DISPUTING THE VALUE OF MY CAR... I PROVIDED MULTIPLE DOCUMENTS CONFIRMING THE VALUE WAS MUCH LOWER THAN THE ONE DOCUMENT THE BANK PROVIDED. MY ATTORNEY DID NOT ADVOCATE FOR ME AND I ENDED UP BEING LEFT WITH AN UNREAL CAR OBLIGATION FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS. AS MY MAIN PRIORITY WAS MY HOUSE I STUCK WITH IT. THEY HAVE BEEN PAID AND I HAVE NOT BEEN PROMISED THE SERVICE THAT I WAS PROMISED. THIS WAS THE LEAST OF THE PROBLEMS. THE WORST MISTAKE EVER. BE SURE WHEN YOU CONSIDER PAYING THOUSANDS TO AN ATTORNEY THAT YOU FIND SOMEONE THAT STICKS TO THEIR PROMISES AND REPRESENTS YOUR INTEREST.
