My very first legal job was to write wills for long time family friends. In fact, the wife carried me home from the hospital when I was born. I enjoy the personal interaction that estate planning allows. I write wills, form revocable living trusts and irrevocable lilving trusts, powers of attorney, community property agreements, Healthcare Directives, pre-nuptial agreements, etc. Over the years (40 years in practice) I've written thousands of wills and probated hundreds of estates..

My business practice focuses on family owned or privately held companies. I do not advise publicly held companies. I form companies, review leases, write contracts, serve as counsel for the purchaser of seller of a buiness, and answer a wide range of questions that businesses encounter. I formerly taught the Legal Aspects of Forming your Own Business for the Small Business Administration in Seattle. My business litigation primarily involves construction liens.

My primary areas of practice (estate planning/probate and business) frequently involve real estate such as a client acquiring real property on which it will open a new branch, probates that need to sell the decedent's home (and rental property). Reviewing proposed commercial leases, correcting title problems and drafting real estate ownership agreements are some of the many kinds of legal problems with which I work.
