Update to Dec 30, 2014 review, "Clemency"

As stated in the previous review, Maureen represented my husband in a clemency hearing last year. We received a unanimous recommendation from the Clemency and Pardons Board to grant our petition. This process has taken 18 months from start to finish and we were granted a commutation from the Governor.... As stated before, we had an extraordinary case in all areas. However, without the insight, knowledge, and professionalism provided by Maureen we would never have been able to present our extraordinary circumstances to the board and receive commutation from the Governor. Maureen goes above and beyond of what is required of her. Commutations and pardons are only granted in rare and extraordinary circumstances and as stated before, I would recommend Maureen to anyone who wants a chance at commutation or even a pardon from the Governor.

Clemency

Maureen represented my husband in a clemency hearing this year and we received an unanimous recommendation from the board for clemency. It is now up to the Governor. We have an extraordinary case, but could not have been successfully represented without her. Maureen is passionate and truly cares abo...ut her clients. She prepared a clemency petition that was accurate. She prepared everybody who was to speak at the hearing. Maureen will also not pull back punches. I would recommend her to anyone who is thinking about petitioning for commutation or even a pardon.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
