Kim Maree Johannessen

Kim Johannessen was referred to me by a friend who happens to be a very successful attorney himself. A request was posted on Listserve, a Legal Referral directory used by attorneys to post referrals and recommendations, and Johannessen & Associates came up repeatedly. I remember one attorney resp...onding "This is the one". After speaking with several other attorneys, I knew Kim was the best choice. Not only was Johannessen & Associates recommended by other attorneys, but also by environmental cleanup companies I had contacted. Working with Kim was the best decision I could have made. I was in a very complex situation with a leaking residential oil tank that involved many parties with no clear path. Kim's extensive legal experience on environmental matters, combined with her keen understanding of the issues and the hard work put in by Kim and her associates, all were key to our being able to work towards a resolution, despite a seemingly hopeless beginning. We had an absolutely awful oil problem with our personal residence. After going down several wrong paths we were able to find Johannessen & Associates (J&A). Kim was referred to us by a very successful attorney who happens to be an attorney himself. He asked around for us and said that J&A are... who his counterparts recommended. I also told our story to a friend who happened to be on the other side of J&A. They lost. He said they were very tough and very good. Based on our experience, both of these recommendations couldn't have been more accurate. Ask around yourself. If you find someone that doesn't like them, chances are they were on the other side and lost. If you want an attorney that is more than knowledgeable in legal matters around oil and is extremely thorough then I would highly recommend that you talk to this firm.

Kim represented my wife and I in a negotiation with our next door neighbor's insurer over expenses for remediating leakage from the neighbor's tank that had spread well onto our property and under our home. There were remediation expenses, and costs of consulting engineers and Kim's fees. Kim resol...ved the entire matter without litigation, with full recovery by us of all out of pocket expenses and compensation for disruption of our lives during the remediation process. I am writing today to share my experience with Kim Johannessen & Associates, P.S. In 2007, my husband and I entered into an agreement to buy a property that turned out to have two oil tanks on it- one long abandoned and one not. Not knowing the risks of these tanks, we chose to buy the property anywa...y. Shortly after closing- it was discovered that these tanks had been leaking and the cleanup became our responsibility. At the advice of someone else, we chose to go with a lawyer that claimed he had experience fighting legal battles against previous property owners in tank clean-ups. After a year of litigation, we lost our case. Not only did we lose- we were asked to pay the other sides legal costs. This is when I consulted another attorney and he told me about Kim. Having already had one bad experience with a lawyer I searched for information about Kim and could find none. That is why I am writing today. When we bought our dream property, my husband and I could never imagine that something like this would happen to us. Kim and Julie brought extensive experience and knowledge in underground storage tanks and were able to help us in one of the worst situations of our lives.
