I bet ND has some interesting law re: snow and ice. In order to recover anything approaching FMV for your case you need to hire a personal injury...

In some states you might arguably be liable under the family car doctrine. But it seems like a pretty remote risk.

You should not be settling a toxic tort claim without the assistance of an attorney. Your attorney should explain the release to you.
