Thomas Michael Kummerow

Mr. Kummerow represented me as court appointed appellate counsel. The court of appeals determined him to be ineffective assistance of counsel. He is much worse than that. I brought to his attention that a large amount of jurors were taken individually into chambers and talked to outside of my pres...ence. Many of them sat on my jury, and these were jurors that most attorneys would immediately challenge: Retired police officer, DOC employee, Court advocate, Crime victims. Mr. Kummerow told me this was not an issue. He refused to raise it. This issue I brought to Mr. Kummerow was the very issue that reversed my conviction. It was a fundamental constitutional violation. I handed the information to him on a platter, and he disregarded it and cost me a decade in prison. This loss of a decade made a fair retrial nearly impossible. The only silver lining to his representation was being awarded resentencing on the grounds of same criminal conduct. It really didn't do a thing since it had a life top. From 11 to life to 9 to life. I've done 10 so far. If you hand an attorney a winner on a silver platter and they ignore you, they deserve 0 stars.
