Trustworthy, responsive, and compassionate.

I have seen several different attorneys over the years represent family and friends of mine. Sarah Elerson has been by far the most professional, compassionate, and responsive I have ever experienced. I recommend Sarah for anyone that may have simple straight forward case to those who have a complex,... seemingly never ending, emotionally charged situation. Sarah will guide you through the process and advise you along the way. My personal experience was with an ex that did not have reasonable expectations or views for what was best for our child. Sarah stood her ground, fought for the issues that truly mattered and in the end it worked out great. You should never expect to get everything you hope for but I couldn't have asked for better representation than what I had with Sarah. Sarah was praised by the judge during our settlement conference on having the best laid out documentation she had ever seen. Our requests were laid out in a way that made any argument against them seem ludicrous and even the opposing counsel had to concede and bring their client along towards our proposals. Sarah will do everything possible to work with opposing counsel to have things completed in a timely, amicable, and reasonable resolution. In my case the opposing counsel tried to mis-characterize Sarah and her actions to paint myself and Sarah in a bad light to the court. Sarah had all the evidence to the contrary and sent a immediate response to opposing counsel to write the court to withdraw his statements and clear things up or we would move forward with pursuing fees and sanctions. All this to say Sarah is extremely well balanced. She is easy going and professional, if she needs to, she will roll up her sleeves and fight for you. I hope I never have to end up needing her services again. If I end up going back to court for anything, there is no attorney I would rather have represent me.

2017 An Amiable Divorce

I hired Sarah Elerson in the fall of 2016 for my divorce. The first questions were around my residency status for the State of Washington as I spent time in two states. Her research clarified what I needed to do to ensure I had the status of a Washington State resident. She also thoroughly reviewed... all the documentation I provided as background, such as tax records and separate property agreements. In spring 2017 she gathered all the information needed for the forms for the court filing. I wanted to do some of the initial property division accounting so she provided a spreadsheet to organize all the assets and liabilities. She was very clear in her communications on what was needed. When we later reviewed the assets and liabilities she provided clear direction on what was allowed under the law and how the court would review the proposed division of property. Her suggestions for different ways that the property division could occur helped me to understand what needed to be adjusted to achieve an equitable division. In July she helped with how my former spouse could receive the reading materials he needed to meet the court requirement for a course for a spouse that did not have an attorney. He was living in another state and was able to complete the required course there. While helping with this she was very clear that her role was representing me. As it was an amiable divorce I appreciated that she supported the approach of keeping it amiable and also noting when an adjustment was needed to be fair and equitable. Throughout the process she came prepared to meetings, provided clear direction, communicated well through emails or by phone. She moved the process along at a pace that worked well for me and kept things moving to complete the process in the timeline that we had discussed in the spring. When all the forms were filed in September she kept me informed of their status, what was complete or still needed, and the final completion date. She provided me with all the necessary files and document copies that I needed at the completion of the case. I would definitely recommend her to other potential clients. I found her easy to work with, stays on task or topic but with a good sense of humor when needed. I felt she was very clear on what needed to be done while also navigating the gray areas of various approaches or options. I thoroughly trusted her knowledge of the law and her desire to help me with my case.

Very Professional with a Feeling of Warmth, Personal Concern and Respect

Sarah Elerson's legal expertise was crucial in delivering a successful outcome in my difficult marraige dissolution. She really went to bat for me whenever a difficult decision was required yet maintained an attitude of fairness to both parties. Sarah's firm belief in my legal cause while fashioning ...an equitable outcome for both parties helped my peace of mind considerably. Her gentle but firm reminders and soothing words always brought my difficult legal situation into a more realistic perspective when anxiety started dominating my thought process. At times it felt something like having the trusted sister who first listens intently and then thoughtfully suggests an action that may seem a bit uncomfortable at first but gives you her message with such a large dose of confidence, caring and concern that you feel at ease. Sarah definitely has my highest regard as a lawyer and a person. Highly recommended!
