Responsive but not informed

First with the good. Ron was very responsive and generally kept me apprised of all issues related to my case. Unfortunately, that doesn't win cases, just runs up legal bills. Not Trustworthy. There are several other serious issues that I have with Ron and his representation. First, he intentionall...y mislead me about actions he claimed to be taking in preparing for my case. I asked him direct questions and the response he provided was factually false. These were not issues that could were subjective nature. They were matters that had a clear right or wrong answer. He told me something that was false and pretended that it was true. Not Knowledgeable. While Ron has a good legal mind, he does not have a good grasp of family law matters. After I lost my DVPO case in front the commissioner, we decided to attempt to revise the ruling. Ron was corrected by the judge about what the law actually said. It was clear from the very beginning that this one area was the biggest potential threat, yet Ron refused to acknowledge it and instead insisted on, "revving up the conflict," which only made matters. His lack of maturity and unfamiliarity with pertinent statutes cost me dearly. Luckily for me I hired another attorney and the DVPO that had been entered was dismissed, but the year and a half of hell I dealt with as a result of Ron's ineptness were inexcusable. I would not recommend Ron Ordell.

While it is unfortunate to hear that this reviewer had a negative experience with an attorney, based on the information provided in the review and upon requesting further verification from AVVO in order to verify that this person was actually a client, it does not appear that this person was ever a client of this firm.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
