Albert George Lirhus

We consulted Mr. Lirhus for an adoption. He had lots of good ideas and was very helpful. He'd clearly done this before, but he took plenty of time to explain our options. He was very kind and empathetic. We ended up going with a full-blown agency, but I did recommend him to a friend who needed adopti...on paperwork filed.

We worked with Albert in the adoption of our daughter. He was very supportive and friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the process. One somewhat silly example that's indicative of his experience: when we went to the courthouse to finalize the adoption, he took one look at the judge and the...n whispered to us exactly when and where this particular judge would let us take photos to commemorate the occasion. Apparently each individual judge has their own quirks in this regard, and Albert knows them all! I can't recommend him highly enough.

We had a very unique situation in which the birth mother was relinquishing her rights to her then almost school age children. Their birthfather is my fiance and I persued a second parent adoption. The most time consuming part was keeping Mr. Lirhus and the social worker he had recommended on track wi...th paperwork delivery dates they both promised. He did not talk to her, and she did not talk to him. It turned out that they were waiting on eachother and wasted almost a month because no one would pick up the phone. I had to call Mr. Lirhus every three weeks just to find the status of the paperwork and was charged every time just to get an update. This proved to be extrememly frustrating. I felt that I was paying enough I shouldn't have had to manage the communication and progress of my adoption as well. Despite frustrations, Mr. Lirhurs is very knowledgable and wonderful to deal with in person, especially in odd cases.

Albert handled the adoption of my son. My wife and I did considerable research before deciding he was our first choice for this job. Albert and his staff did not disappoint. Albert's willingness to make personal sacrifices for his clients was tested in our case. Our son was born on Albert's wedding ...anniversary--a big one, I think the 20th or 25th--and work needed to be done on the evening he and his wife had set aside to celebrate. Albert did the work when it needed to be done, letting his personal life take second place. I was touched. Newborn adoption cases in Washington are delicate in the 48 hours after the baby is born. Albert gave us sound advice to help us avoid any missteps during this time. We followed his advice, and our adoption came to pass. I am a lawyer myself, so my professional experience figures in my admiration of Albert's work. I routinely refer to him, with full confidence, anyone who needs help with an adoption.

I have used Albert for two independent adoptions. My children are now 4 and 1.5 and they truly are the joy of our lives. First of all, he has done well over four thousand adoptions (I know this because I asked - he is too humble to brag) and really really knows what he is doing. He will meet with you... the first time to explain the process FREE of charge which is awesome as it can be overwhelming to begin the process. He can come off a bit scattered but he has it under control and gets things done when they need to be done. I also personally know three other friends who have used him and also had a great experience. Both of my adoption situations were complicated with some unusual circumstances with each set of birthparents and Albert handled them like a pro. As others said, he offers his home number (who does that??) and makes himself available at just the right time. And I should add that his pricing is very very reasonable. I know this as I've dealt with other lawyers on other issues. He is awesome and we would love to adopt again and use Albert to complete our third adoption. This guy is fantastic at what he does!
