Professional, Knowledgeable & Compassionate

From the first time I first spoke to John Matson in 2018 I knew I was right where I needed to be. His calm levelheaded demeanor was so important to my case and my ability to march forward. John is genuine and intentional in his efforts to represent his clients and remains true to his character throu...ghout. He has supported me through a very lengthy difficult child custody/visitation/support case which involved him representing me through a Court of Appeals process. John works tirelessly to make sure the truth and the facts are presented fairly. He has been a go between in many matters for me where it just did not seem as if co-parenting was possible. He is always a wise ear to lean on and is prompt in his communication efforts with myself and other counsel and the court. John has always gone above and beyond for me and I would strongly recommend him for not only for a highly contested family law matter but any family law matter. Thank you for all you do!

Fair and Caring Attorney

I hired Mr. Matson to help me with a highly contested divorce that included children. I had spoken with a few different attorneys and all started off saying my situation was somewhat dire and they would fight to get the best outcome for me. Mr. Matson’s approach was completely different from day ...one. His approach was first to look at all the parties involved, including the children, and focused on what would be best for everyone. He helped me to develop a strategy to aim for a fair settlement and avoid trial, though he was fully prepared to go to trial. Throughout the entire process he was always up front and concerned about the financial impacts. I have heard plenty of other stories of attorneys just racking up the bills with no regard to reality for the parties involved. He would answer my requests for action and questions with legit approaches to mitigate cost, legal proceedings, and wasted time. As with most attorneys, he is very busy, and even volunteers his time, but despite all that I still felt he cared about my situation, case, and time. He was very responsive and was exceptional in weeding through the facts versus the chaos I would throw his way. He would ask what my goals and desired outcomes would be and then would help guide me through the process to obtain those. He is knowledgeable of the law and has an excellent way of explaining it to those of us that are not lawyers by trade. My major concern was the outcome being fair and the child custody side of things. In the end, a settlement was reached in my case, and a formal trial was avoided. I have already and would recommend Mr. Matson if you are looking for a caring approach from somebody you can trust.

Great Attorney***Better Person***

I recently won my unlawful detainer case against my landlord that was trying to evict me unlawfully. I have recently the previous year been homeless for 40 days due to being evicted buy another property manager but didn't know how to go about fighting against it. This time I contacted hjp in Seattle ...and had a court date with my landlord and one of their volunteer attorneys. At that time she was not prepared 4 what was to come and seem really rattled in front of the judge. Neither the less we had to continue the case. That is when I met John C E Matson. He took over my case that was going on since January 2018 and collecting all the information, he took time to do his due diligence together every piece of evidence that I provided and I believe he spent over 25 hours on my case. This case was thrown in his laugh and we should have got it done June 2nd but to no avail we had to continue the court case three separate times. And as I was going through my stress levels I reached out to John on numerous occasions venting and complaining that no one was they're backing me up. He calmly told me that he was working on everything and made sure that I knew that he was in my corner. As we got to the trial date he explained to me that even though we had evidence it's all in the judges hands. Before the trial started the judge gave us time to communicate with the plaintiff attorney and we reached a settlement. Mr. Matson had all his court binder portfolio full of evidence and law for my case I saw that he was very prepared and their attorney wasn't. He negotiated a settlement for me that paid me over $4,000 with relocation cost. He got his attorney fees paid all on the spot at the court in front of the judge. I'm so grateful to jhansi Matteson for helping me throughout this whole ordeal. I asked him to help me and my daughter to the best of his abilities and I believe that he went above and beyond. I appreciate all the time and effort that he put it into my case he was right there with me every step of the way. I will recommend anyone who is going through problems with landlords and unfair treatment should speak with John and hire him because I truly believe he has human beings best interest at heart. Sincerely Gino R Williamson

"I've has the pleasure to know John Matson as a personal friend for roughly 15 years. He is now practicing family law in WA, and he has agreed to handle my cases while I'm on vacation. I say this because I greatly value all my family law clients and I wouldn't ask anyone to handle my cases in my absence if I didn't have absolute confidence in their abilities and their desire to do their best for all their clients, including mine. I have no problem recommending John Matson to anyone looking for a smart, articulate, and caring attorney dedicated to achieving the right result for his clients."
