Jan Gossing

I have used Jan since 2013. He was instrumental in getting me through a very difficult IRS audit which was caused by my having hired a very incompetent CPA. Jan was there for me through the entire IRS meet and greet and review and analysis. In the end I paid a couple of bucks to the IRS was found ...to have not been at fault and have never been audited since. Jan is also a CPA and has filed my tax returns for the last 12 years. Owning what amounts to around 5 businesses and having a ton of write offs and carryover Jan is careful to find every deduction but also careful to remind me to not want to get audited again so we are careful to not actually claim every single deduction I'm entitled to. Which is fair. I have appreciated his attention to detail and his friendship. Yes, we became friends as a result of having worked together for so many years and with me being in finance and him being in law. Like me Jan is a one man band so he is juggling quite a few balls all at the same time so sometimes a little patience is required but that patience is worthwhile. Highly recommend.

Jan has gone above and beyond what is required on my case. I went to see Jan after getting his name from an associate. The thought of bankruptcy was very scary for me and I had a lot of apprehension. He was very knowledgeable and reassuring of the whole process. He exhibited a high level of confiden...ce without exuding arrogance - an asset many attorneys lack. Our case seemed pretty cut and dry when we started. Honestly I though the bankruptcy attorney got too much money when all of the figures were laid out in our bankruptcy repayment plan. Fast forward a year later......... I feel he isn't paid enough!! He has earned very penny!!!! Things have been turned upside down by an out of nowhere child custody / child support nightmare brought on by my husband's ex and a vehicle included in the chapter 13 plan being totaled when we were the victim of a distracted driver. He didn't hesitate in going to bat for us when DCS aggressively intercepted an amended refund that was a result of IRS changing the way income to special needs parent caregivers is reported. and he was very helpful in getting the funds from the insurance payoff for the car. I'm sure his out of the box thinking will be our life saver if we have to rewrite our plan so all the people that should be paid do get paid. Without Jan on our side I'm sure we'd be facing a hopeless outcome plagued with financial ruin. I only wish Jan handled family law too!!! I would recommend him in a heartbeat!!!

I began working with Jan over a year ago based on a referral from my other attorney John Eltringham, another fantastic attorney. Jan has helped me in dealing with a random IRS audit but has also now been engaged to put together my tax returns and has also helped in a few other areas to include the e...stablishment of an LLC and a dispute with an irresponsible house sitter. Jan is always very easy to get a hold of and responds to emails, calls and texts in a timely manner. He is wise beyond his years and a think outside the box type of guy who is able to create positive solutions and outcomes for complex situations. He is well versed in his craft and charges very reasonable fees for his time relative to his expertise. All in all a fine attorney to work with.
