My name is Kelly Burdette and was admitted to the Washington State Bar Association in December 2011. Upon graduating from the University of Washington in 2001 with a double degree in Political Science and Communications and a minor in Women Studies, I worked for the Washington State Community Action Partnership. We worked with 30 nonprofit organizations in Washington who provide services to low-income individuals. With the desire to work more closely with people who were in need of assistance, I enrolled in the evening Paralegal Studies Program at the University of Washington in 2004. I was hired as a paralegal at Burkett & Burdette in April 2004 and have been with the firm since. Instead of attending law school, I was asked by Lee Burdette, one of the partners of the firm, to participate in the Washington State Bar Association Rule 6 Program. I worked full-time as a paralegal and studied the law on the side with the assistance of Lee, my mentor. During my time in the program I became eligible to obtain a limited license to practice law. The program took 4 years and all of my work was reviewed by the Bar committee overseeing the program. I successfully completed the program in June 2011 and passed the July 2011 Bar exam. This allowed me to conduct 2 arbitrations, 2 depositions, examine witnesses at trial, including our client at trial last February, draft motions, negotiate on behalf of our clients, all under the supervision of my mentor. Personally, I love to run, boat, travel, ski, bowl, scuba dive, and spend time with friends and family.

I had a shoulder injury due to a flu shot, and Kelly handled all the details from start to finish. Kelly was precise and articulate all the way through the case. She showed concern and understood my worries with the injury. Very professional and smart. I am glad I had her in my corner.

There are no words to describe how great an experience I had with Kelly. She helped me get a settlement for my SIRVA case and went way above and beyond her duties when I thought we would not reach a settlement. I would never recommend anyone else for a Vaccine case!

I had an injury due to a flu shot. While I eventually did recover, I had lost work time as well as over $600 of physical therapy co-pays that I was responsible for. I had read that there is a way to get compensated by the government for losses such as these and I was referred to the Burdettes. Ov...

Kelly Burdette was very helpful throughout my SIRVA claim. She explained the process thoroughly and was very specific about what information was needed and how I should complete the forms and applications required. She clarified the negotiation of settlement and I am satisfied with the result.

Kelly helped me file a case with the National Vaccine Injury Compensation program. I had received my yearly flu shot in December 2015 and was quickly diagnosed with SIRVA. I, of course, had a lot of questions and Kelly always responded to all of my emails and calls in a timely fashion. Kelly was very...
"I highly recommend Kelly Hooper. We worked on a case together and I witnessed first-hand how dedicated she was to her work and that her legal skills were exceptional. I would not hesitate to ask Kelly to handle a legal matter on my behalf."
"I endorse this lawyer. She was very professional and did not play games. She was clearly passionate over insuring her clients needs were being met without being over zealous and thus hindering the possibility of negotiating a settlement that was fair to both sides. I would recommend her as an advocate and I would work with her as counsel."
