Attorney Crystal Alford has a passion for the rights of families, parents, and individuals that grew out the love of her large extended family—16 aunts and uncles total! She is intimately familiar with the injustices effecting women, minorities, and the indigent. Her passion to protect the rights of her family, friends, neighbors, and community drove her to a career in the legal field.
Crystal began her legal career in 2002 as a managing paralegal in a small boutique firm, focusing on family law. After five years, Crystal progressed from her work as a paralegal to a court clerk, serving the Honorable D.D. Mallard. From there she entered law school.
While managing school and two young children, Crystal continued her work for the underrepresented, serving on the boards of the Public Interests Law Group and the American Constitutional Society. She also worked as a legal intern at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law Civil Rights Clinic. In her work with the clinic, Crystal counseled clients housed in solitary confinement, fighting for their rights for humane treatment. In 2014, Crystal graduated with a J.D. and a certificate in Constitutional Rights and Remedies from the University of Denver.
After law school, Crystal worked as a law clerk to Superior Court Judge D.D. Mallard, observing felony criminal dockets and civil dockets. Following this clerkship, she served as a law clerk to Superior Court Chief Judge Maria Berkenkotter. As an associate, Crystal continues to fight for the rights of the underrepresented as well as her community, neighbors, friends, and family, and she is proud to call Moriarty & Associates her home.

Crystal handled my adoption case. She worked endlessly for us and in the end of a lengthy trial our adoption is now final. She truly cared for my family and my children. She is amazing!
"Ms. Alford is a zealous advocate for her clients. Even while opposing a position she is courteous and professional. She is very passionate about the law and assisting people in need."
"Ms. Alford is an excellent attorney and clients would do well to have her representing them. She is a staunch advocate who is willing to speak up for her clients to get them the results they deserve. She is experienced with the system she works within and able to advise about her expectations, but also able to identify parts of the system that need improvement and work towards changing them."
"I highly recommend Ms. Alford. She is very comfortable in the courtroom. She is assertive and will not tolerate her clients being walked on by an opponent. She knows the law well and is familiar with the customs of the superior court in Snohomish County, which gives her an authoritative presentation in the courtroom. Neither you nor anyone else in the courtroom will doubt that Ms. Alford knows exactly what she's doing."
"I endorse Crystal as a thoughtful and compassionate advocate for her clients. I've worked with Crystal firsthand and witnessed her dedication and care for the parents she represents."
