The big picture: Betsylew took my case at the last minute, went through tons and tons of medical bills and papers that I'd collected over the past years, and, made sense of it all. She developed a concise write-up of the impact to me by the accident and outlined reasonable courses for the responsible party to take. She was willing to meet in Seattle which was a big deal for me, with as much as I was coping with at the time. An extra blessing was that as a result of her willingness to see my case, relatively small compared to many others, as worth her time, I felt hopeful that I was worth fighting for and this helped my healing trajectory take a turn for the better.
