I hired Matthew Cruz to litigate a Real Estate issue. He quoted $60K to resolution & the promise of these fees being returned to me at the close of an assured win. No resolution was obtained whatsoever. His billable hours were excessive & he treated me like I was an open checkbook. I received mon...thly bills with an excessive amount of billable hours due & no progress in my case. He did receive the quoted $60K but only thru the threat of the Firm's Founder of bringing a lawsuit against me if I did not pay. I did not receive any vindication whatsoever from his legal services which is what he was hired for. My lawsuit was completely valid & he did not work it. When he did appear in front of a Judge on my behalf it was nothing but embarrassing to say the least as his litigation skills are deplorable to say the least! He was a COMPLETE waste of money! Do not hire this man!!!

We came to this lawyer for help. He commented that he didn't do this small of a case and referred us to one of his assistants. He did not return calls in a timely fashion or generate documents when he told us he would. He did not get the facts accurately regarding our wishes. We got practically n...othing for our $1,000 retainer. Dealing with this lawyer was a waste of our time. We have informed the referring lawyer how disappointed we were with his recommendation of Mr. Cruz. We will obviously be going to trial but we have selected someone else who is more responsive and willing to work with us and answer our phone calls and questions.
