Amanda Peters clearly understands the in's and out's of Maritime Law.
She did an Excellent job of clearly explaining my case every step of the way. When ever I had any questions or concerns, either she or her extremely competent support staff were there to help.
I worked for a Law Firm a number of years ago. After that experience I hoped I'd never have to deal with an attorney for any reason. They were the one's all the lawyer jokes were made for.
Amanda has restored my faith in the legal profession. Not only was she a total pleasure to work with, she was able to negotiate a settlement that was ten times more than the original offer. That was definitely something I didn't expect.
At no time during the process was I ever left wondering. Amanda always kept me abreast on what was happening.
All in all it was a wonderful experience.
Yes I have and will continue to refer anyone that is in need of her services.
Thank you Amanda!
Although we don't currently take state workers' comp, we handle a type of privatized federal workers' comp that covers people who work near the water and who work on defense bases overseas under the Longshore Act and its extension.
I am a dedicated and tenacious attorney for the injured. I work with the rest of the Blue Water team to help injured Longshoremen, boatbuilders and contractors under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act and its extensions, such as the Defense Base Act (DBA). I was pulled into the law (after 7 years working in the banking and technology fields) by these hardworking but injured clients. I never looked back.
I am a person with many interests and I love to figure out how all things work. I love researching science and computers. Believe it or not, I love math and figuring out how facts and statistics can mean many different things. On the creative side, I enjoy tatting lace, coloring and reading as many books as I can. My family always joked that I would even read the dictionary.
I am also very close with my large extended family. Although both sides of my family are from Washington State, I have branches of my family all throughout the United States. I am beginning a project to record all the family stories from original sources.

"I have worked with Amanda throughout her career, first as a paralegal and now as an attorney, and know she is a passionate advocate for her clients. Her greatest skill is listening to the real needs of her clients and finding strong pathways to achieve those goals. This is an important attribute for a Longshore attorney."
