Pros: - Ralph is well known and has a great reputation. This counts both in court and in dealing with opposing counsel. - He's quick thinking in verbal arguments and has a broad, long-term knowledge and experience in dealing with a wide range of family law issues - Ralph is an incredible, strategi...c thinker - Ralph is excellent in drafting the final documents including important provisions that might not seem important until years later Cons: - Ralph tends to be busy. He's great at keeping the client informed and makes himself available, promptly returns calls, etc., but Ralph sometimes falls short in providing enough time and attention. More than just time, you want to know you've been heard. - Ralph sometimes relies too much on his reputation and experience, instead of deep, focused preparation - Like most attorneys, Ralph won't directly answer many questions, instead, simply answering with possible outcomes or simply a shrug of his shoulders. Being reluctant to predict is understandable, but clients need more than just possible outcomes -- they need to know probable outcomes along with the possible ones - Although Ralph is a great strategist, he fails to inform the client of the strategy, leaving you, at times, wondering if he's on the ball. - Ralph isn't the most sensitive of attorneys. I'll leave it to you if sensitivity is important -- clearly legal skills, an ability to strategize and and ability to think on his feet (all qualities he possesses) are the most important -- but, if you're expecting compassion... hire a therapist. Ralph's just there for the legal issues.
