I needed to redo my 15 year old Will, Powers of Attorney, Health Directive & Living Trust. I wanted to add my granddaughters to the trust. Ms. Gauthier sav...ed me money by just adding an amendment to the trust, which will include a provision for my granddaughters. She also had a promisory note drawn up for me. If I was to DIY health directive, I wouldn’t have known that on top of having a health directive, I would also need a so-called "HIPAA" release form. Ms. Gauthier was very patient & calm, if I didn’t understand something, she explained it in simple language that I could comprehend. I felt so comfortable with her, there was no such thing as a "dumb question". I am very satisfied with Ms. Gauthier and would highly recommend her. A lot of my friends were telling me that I could just go online to get forms & DIY. One of the most valuable services an estate planning attorney can provide, is the opportunity for me to discuss my situation with an expert. A proper Will must clearly state the intent, what you want to happen, actually happen, when you die to dispose of assets. The language used must be dispositive in nature (a letter of instruction or words stating a person’s general preferences will not suffice). Those who draft their own Wills run the risk of using words, terms or descriptions that could fail to make effective dispositions. For those reasons, I opt to proceed with caution in using DIY estate planning as a substitute for a proper, professionally-drafted plan.

Madeline has been excellent in helping me settle my father's estate. Attorneys are never cheap, but she is one of the best values you'll encounter when dealing with a estate/probate attorney. Fees were very reasonable, she and her assistant Colleen were consummate professionals. I couldn't recommend ...her more highly.
