Divorce

After going through two other attorneys who did almost nothing for me I found Timothy by recommendation. He and his staff were professional and thorough. During mediation Timothy discovered about $100,000 that should be awarded to me but had not been accounted for. Very nice and well worth the fee ...I was charged.

Wisdom; of people and the law

I contacted Tim Edwards on the recommendation of an acquaintance. My first consultation with Tim was over 15 years ago. He didn't rush me to divorce court; he had the wisdom to advise me to wait, based on what I shared. When the time was right, I went back to him. He and his staff then handled my... ugly divorce and drama-filled custody case with wisdom and expertise--and the best interest of the children at the core. Even though we won custody, ex-spouses don't always follow parenting plans. Within the last year, I called on Tim for advice. He proceeded to win a Contempt of Court case against my ex. Dealing with attorneys, courts, and ex's can bring emotional challenges. Tim is not only a brilliant attorney, but he and his staff are wonderful counselors as well. They know how to help a client through difficult times with empathy, compassion, understanding, and good advice. I've recommended Tim to friends and acquaintances on more than several occasions. I'd recommend him to anyone--except the other side.

Don't waste your time.

This firm is very expensive and seems to be on your side but as soon as you question them, they will drop you. We asked a simple question to another lawyer (information Mr. Edward's office should of given us about appealing a decision) and he dropped us. Very unorganized. Each time we met with Mr.... Edwards we had to explain the residential plan and each time he pulled out a piece of scratch paper to write it down. Of course he billed us for this time. Told us they would counter contempt, go after unpaid funds and also go after harassment by the father because of how many times he has taken us to court. At the trial none of this was brought up and the lawyer (Mr. Edward's colleage) was ill and not very articulate. The firms insisted on writing our declaration which took them 4 hours (or $900.00) when we could of easily written it ourself. When found in contempt and the judge asked what a penalty should be and our lawyer did not even speak up and left it to the judge for the decision which was lost of the child for one week. Very harsh penalty for minor mistake. If Tim Edwards suggest that you "keep your gun powder dry", run for the door as fast as you can.

Relationship: Worked for lawyer

"I worked under Mr. Edwards while in law school and learned valuable experience about how to not only practice in the field of family law, but also how to conduct yourself as a professional. He is not only a great litigator and fierce advocate for his clients, but he also maintains his professionalism while seeking justice for his clients. I now practice in family law and criminal defense and still use daily the knowledge he taught me by practice and example."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
