This was a slip and fall case in which I represented the plaintiff Ms. Cofer. As she was walking on the sidewalk in front door of her local Safeway store, her foot struck a bolt sticking out of the sid ... ewalk and she fell to the concrete fracturing her left knee cap and right wrist. My investigation revealed that someone had removed a bench that had been screwed to the sidewalk but had left the bolts sticking out of the concrete. Safeway settled after I shared the results of my investigation with them.

This was a slip and fall case in which I represented the plaintiff Ms. Eccel who had stopped by a local RV shop to look at some RV’s. As she was walking down the fence line, she fell into a hole sever ... ely injuring her leg, ankle and foot. The hole had been caused by a utility pole butt that had been left in the ground to rot by the power company that had replaced the pole by cutting it off at the ground instead of pulling it. My investigation revealed that the hole had been there for years. No settlement offer was made until after I filed a lawsuit, obtained documents from the power company and took depositions (statements under oath) of the power company's employees revealing that the pole had been cut down 12 years before the accident and the power company had inspected the area several times over the years. The key document revealed that one of the power company's inspectors had made note of the cut off pole 4 years before the accident.
OUTCOME: My client was not found liable by the jury and the decision was upheld by the Court of Appeals.
