Holly A Preslar

Holly graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree Cum Laude in Political Science and a Minor in Psychology from Southern Oregon University and then received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law where she served as the Student Bar Association President her third year. 

Holly returned to her home town of Grants Pass after graduating from law school to begin her legal practice with the firm of Myrick, Seagraves, Myrick, Adams & Davis where she eventually became a partner in the firm. In 1996, Holly began her own practice focusing on juvenile, criminal and family law.  

Holly is a strong advocate for her clients, caring  about them and their cases. For over 25 years, Holly has served as the President of the Josephine County Defense Lawyers, Inc. Board of Directors and contract administrator for this local consortium of private attorneys who handle court appointed cases in a variety of fields. Holly serves on the local juvenile court committees that include community partners such as the Oregon Department of Human Services, representatives of the Oregon Attorney General's office, Citizen Review Board, and CASA.  In 2020, Holly was honored with the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (OCDLA) Juvenile Law Advocacy Award for her work representing children and parents in child welfare cases. In 2024, Holly participated in a statewide work group of experienced juvenile dependency attorneys for the Oregon Public Defense Commission on revising the standards for attorneys doing juvenile dependency work in Oregon.  Holly brings with her over 30 years of experience and knowledge to this field.  

More personally, Holly loves the outdoors, most especially enjoying the beautiful Rogue & Umpqua Rivers and the Oregon Coast. She also spends her free time thrifting, antiquing, reading, art journaling, and just hanging out with her husband, Lloyd, and dog, Rainie.
