Biography
I have practiced in Oregon, California, Alaska, and briefly interned in Australia and New Zealand. I have 25 years of civil litigation experience in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Currently, my primary areas of practice are foreclosure defense and bankruptcy. As I have a passion to help others, I continually sharpen my knowledge of changes in the law in Oregon and other states to stay on the cutting edge of the foreclosure crisis.
I have been actively involved in the community by serving on the Ashland Forest Lands Commission, Medford Planning Commission, and various non-profit boards, such as Mediation Works. I have been an amateur actor at Oregon Stage Works and Camelot Theatre. I love to travel, garden, practice yoga, and enjoy plays, concerts, and movies.

Avoid
Did not respond to months of contacts then was antagonistic when finally did. Will never deal with him again professionally and recommend no one does.

Replied last June 13, 2017I do not know who this "anonymous" person from four years ago is. During the period of 2011-2016 I was a bankruptcy trustee, whose duty is to represent creditors with respect to the non-exempt assets of people who file bankruptcy. Needless to say, many debtors faced with the prospect of losing non-exempt assets to pay creditors a % on the dollar in exchange for forgiveness of their debts are not happy with that prospect. If they are represented by an attorney in the bankruptcy, I cannot talk to them directly and my staff would have simply referred them back to the attorney they hired. Because this review is "anonymous" I can't say if these were in fact the circumstances or reply more fully. Unfortunately, this the way it is in these days of internet "trolling."

I feel Mr Charter is very effecient, organized, aggressive, and very professional in his field.
We had a very complex case that alot of attornies would have turned down. Not Joe, he jumped in with both feet and lots of determination and had the knowledge required to bring our opponants to their knees.
