When I first applied to get an attorney for a child custody case I was turned down, understandably. There are so many families in need that it must be difficult to decide on who to help. At that time my children were struggling, but fairly stable. I applied out of concern for what may happen with the...ir psyche down the road. After being denied I made sure to document as much as I could. I saved text messages between their father and I, I took detailed notes regarding different situations that I noticed the children struggling with, as well as behaviors they displayed, things they confided me in, and anything else that could show need and cause for a change in custody and parenting time. December of 2017 my daughter was exhibiting sign of suicidal ideation after months of depression and anxiety, and a serious decline in school. She was 10 years old at that time.
