Not a good lawyer

When my wife and I first met with Mr Stedman regarding my DUII matter, he told us that the state's case was weak and outlined what seemed like a good way to fight this thing. However after we paid him a retainer we could scarcely afford, he suddenly became very hard to get a hold of. He really failed... to follow through on anything he promised us. We were forced to hire a different attorney and he refused to refund our fees.

Very bad attorney

I do not recommend this man. On the day of my trial he showed up late was and reprimanded by the judge for tardiness and dishonesty. He tried to get me to plead guilty to a second DUI even though there was no advantage to do so and I told him the money was no object. Despite the fact that I had a ...winnable case, his performance was so bad as to be almost comical. It was almost as though he lost on purpose. When I suggested strategies he angrily told me not to tell him how to do his job despite the fact his cross examinations were relevant to neither the case nor my guilt or innocence. When I left the room he openly criticized me in front of all remaining in the courtroom including the judge prosecutors and spectators. Of course I was found guilty and at sentencing he made an error that resulted in a 3 year license suspension instead of a one year. Highly not recommended.
