BIOGRAPHY

James A. Wickre was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 1974. Ever since, he has been a practicing Attorney in Medford, Oregon. In addition to his law practice, he serves as a part-time Municipal Court Judge for the Cities of Talent and Phoenix, Oregon. He is a pro-tem Municipal Court Judge for the City of Medford. He also has at various times served as Municipal Court Judge for the Cities of Central Point, Butte Falls and Shady Cove. For many years he has worked as an arbitrator for the Jackson County Circuit Court arbitration program.

A graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law in 1974, he also received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the U of O in 1969. He is a proud Duck and bleeds green and yellow.

Following college graduation in 1969, he served in the United States Army from September of 1969 until September of 1971 and holds an honorable discharge.

As an active member of his community, he has coached youth soccer and YMCA flag football. He has worked with the Boy Scouts and has been President of the Oregon Club of Southern Oregon. He helped organize Dogs for the Deaf, Inc. in the mid-1970's and has ever since has been their legal counsel. This is an organization that trains dogs to assist those who are deaf. This non-profit organization also saves many dogs from "dog pounds" and finds them loving homes.

Outside of his law practice his interests include history, politics, movies (he loves John Ford directed westerns) and, of course, University of Oregon Duck football and basketball.

He and his wife Janie have been married since 1975 and they have two adult children.
