John has represented me for over a year in Federal Court. He has always available to me and makes time for me whenever I call. I ALWAYS get timely updates from him on the progress of my case. His pleadings are such that I can tell him went over all my evidence and was extremely knowledgeable about that facts and applicable law as he presented my case. I would recommend him in a heartbeat! He always seems more interested in my concerns over his own. Thank you John!
April 10th 2019 I was Represented by John Haapala Jr. at my scheduled Disability hearing. Prior to the hearing I was contacted by Mr. Haapala where he did an Excellent job breaking down the process of what was going to take place at the hearing. He put me at ease , with al the information we had and expressed he would see me at the hearing. Mr. Haapala met me at the hearing where he represented himself and his client extremely well. I would recommend Mr. Haapala to anyone in need of great counsel. Thank you John Haapala Jr.
Assisting clients with disability applications before the Social Security Administration in case development, hearings, and federal appeals.
17 years
I have have been in the business of winning federal appeals for disability clients since 2005. I also represent disability clients at hearings throughout the State of Oregon. Prior to specializing in Social Security, I enjoyed trial practice in family law, criminal defense, and business.
I live on a farm outside Junction City, Oregon, with my wife, April (who helps me in the office). I have lived in Junction City since 1989. For twenty plus years I worked with Oregon Tilth, and other sustainability and organic organizations to prosper local, organic farmers. We still enjoy farming, and currently grow lavender, hot peppers, and Christmas trees. (Try my hot sauce!)
I enjoy spending time with my five children (Samara, Rowan, Summer, Dianna, and Stella), golfing, motorcycling, and playing guitar. I am trying to learn to fly fish, and love to get out and enjoy the natural beauty of Oregon.
I grew up in Richmond, California and moved to Oregon in 1984. I attended John F. Kennedy High School, spent eight years in the Sea Scouts (The Farallon) and was a champion debater in high school (Nationals 1983). I majored in International Studies at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. While at the University of Oregon School of Law I wrote for Keith Aoki and helped organize the Public Interest Environmental Law Conference. Go Ducks!

Kind, Caring, Compassionate and Knowledgeable
I had seen 2 lawyers that said I did not have a case. John told me we did not have the medical record to support my case at that time but told me exactly what to do to get my case ready for hearing. I did exactly as he suggested and he won my case. He and his staff were always kind and compassionate and always returned calls or e-mails within 24 hours. I never felt like I was left hanging or in the dark.

Incredibly impressive
Honestly I've never been so impressed with a lawyer other than Domenic Romano, NY,NY. John knows what he's doing. I wasn't asked to review him. I came here on Avvo on my own due to how outstanding a job he did at my disability hearing. He knew everything it seemed. He rattled off laws, rules, codes, like a computer. I cannot give him a higher rating. If I could I would.
