Charles Spinner

I recommend Chuck Spinner without reservation. He handled my divorce (with a very difficult opposing party) with great skill and kindness. In addition to having broad experience he seems to have great relationships with other lawyers, the courts, etc. He had good perspective on some important issu...es that were peripheral to the divorce itself, including tax ramifications. The process was quick, efficient and less costly that I had expected. One other note: His reputation is such that he seems to be very busy most of the time. I had to wait a few weeks for an appointment, but once I retained him he was very responsive. It was worth the wait!

I know Chuck Spinner has a solid reputation in Eugene, so he must do well by many of his clients. My experience though, in a child support dispute was not so great. Mr. Spinner ended up charging me three times what he initially quoted. The increase that I received in child support was wiped out b...y his fees. Also, he assured me that a particular judge had retired, but when we got to court, there he was. I said, "i thought you said he retired." His answer, "He's a senior judge now." The worse part of my experience with him was that he allowed my ex-husband to run his usual games right before we were going to have a trial. My ex agreed to an amount, then when we said yes, my ex would change his mind, and whittle the amount down. Spinner did nothing to get a hold of this situation. Also, during discovery, my ex used the discovery process to punish me, and Spinner never stood up for me, no matter how ridiculous the request. When I would go in and try and talk to him, he would charge me $250/hr and I would have to sit and listen to his stories about his Mexico vacation. I hired him, because I had heard really positive things about him, but that just was not my experience.
