We hired Clay filing as a plaintiff for a straight-forward and un-losable case which had full supported documents by the County on an illegal rental. Clay not only bungled the files, nor filed any court papers, yet charge $1,500 for merely 2 emails and 1 phone call !!! He erroneously charged fees fo...r fabricated 'time and research' which he never proved nor provided, and We (his clients) finally ended up settling the case out of court accepted by the Defendant by writing up the Settlement Contract ourselves - WITHOUT Stephen's assistance who went incognito while under retainer. We caught him on frequent lies and excuses - his responses were exhaustingly slow, and hiring him proved to be an entirely useless waste of time and $ (and) he even attempt to charge additional fees even after being terminated and fully paid ? - Clayton overbills clients : = We found Mr. Stephens to be lazy, unresponsive, and displayed no ethics nor principles in his assigned duties and is best avoided in our opinion. We were left entirely Unimpressed !

I had a family law case pop up out of the blue, and I had to find an attorney fast. I went through Eugene Legal and that is where I found Clay. I had talked to different attorneys who told me that my case could have a negative outcome from the outcome I desired. What really helped for me was letting ...Mr. Stephen's know that money was not an issue and that I would like to have check-ins with him regularly throughout the process. Eugene Legal really wants people to save their money, and I think that they push their attorney's to want to save their client's money. But if you are anxious, and are willing to spend the money be upfront and communicate that you need extra attention and Mr. Stephens will do that. We had a very good trial outcome and Mr. Stephens used some brilliant strategies that helped us get what we wanted and then some. I would recommend him to my friends and family.

Clay Stephens is competent if you want a will or a trust. However, after much delay, he took four months to craft a letter, which he promised would be done in a week. The following year, he mishandled my email, was unresponsive, and then charged me for his non-service. Subsequently, he asked me to d...raft a letter, then did not follow up. He delayed in relating to me a very important phone call regarding a five year long dispute with a major bank, who called to settle the matter. He did not attempt to make contact with the bank since. I have ceased using his services.
