I have worked with Mr. Delapoer for over 15 years in his role of City Attorney. In that time he has proven to have invaluable insight, knowledge, and perspective time after time. He is able to quickly understand our needs and define a path forward. Jim has always done a good job of involving his client in the decision-making process. This allows the client to make sure that the processes and actions are supporting their ultimate goals and needs. As the City Engineer, I have had the privilege to work with Mr. Delapoer on many issues ranging from construction and contract law to property rights and development issues. His breadth of knowledge is amazing.
Mr. Delapoer is thoughtful in how he approaches challenges and how he looks for solutions. He is able to identify multiple solutions to problems and clearly articulates the risks/benefits to each option. He is especially attentive to the needs of his clients. Mr. Delapoer works hard to be sure he understands the desired outcomes we are seeking before he looks to identify options for moving forward. He has always been very honest and ethical in all his work with and for the City. The City is incredibly fortunate to have Mr. Delapoer represent us. I highly recommend Mr. Delapoer.

Jim Delapoer ended up with our first case when another attorney in the firm moved out of the area. That was over 10 years ago and looking back - we're so glad the other guy moved. Since then, Jim has handled several more cases for us and we couldn't be more pleased with him. He went out of his way to research the grass seed industry and be fully informed on the unique practices of our business. He kept us informed on the proceedings of our case - even when he was on vacation. He was very professional and yet treated us as friends. We genuinely like Jim Delapoer as a friend and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others.

James Delapoer has been my personal attorney for a quarter of a century. In that length of time, he has advised me in various legal matters and represented me in divorce, trust development and property adjustments as well as being generous with his time and expertise on matters of layman curiosity about various aspects of the law. When I have a question, he has always been available to me on a timely basis - a highly desirable trait on time-sensitive legal issues.
Mr. Delapoer is a proactive attorney, i.e. he has helped my business and me personally to avoid legal pitfalls rather than just respond to problems that have occurred. And, he has taken the time to understand my business and my personal and business goals.
Simply, when I need legal help (or think I might), Mr. Delapoer has been there for me every time and his legal expertise has been a winner for me, every time.
