GOOD START VERY POOR FINISH

Mr. Collins in my opinion did a great job in the beginning of my case dealing with visitation rights for me and my son. However, after months went by without a word from Mr. Collins, I would call, and email questions and concerns which were not being returned. I was at the point where I felt like I ...needed to be pestering or annoying just to get a response. I did not get a response from phone calls, or emails, after two years of trying to get something accomplished I presumed we were finished or perhaps nothing further needed to be done. I recently got a letter saying he was terminating our agreement and is no longer going to represent me. Talk about your "Take my money and ditch" feeling. I still have an open case and need to hire another attorney just to finish what was started. I would not recommend this person unfortunately.

Best of the Best

Attorney Howard Collins took time to address my concerns and give me the guidance I very much needed each step of the process. I saw he genuinely cares for his clients and has concern for the stress they experience and the outcome of their case. He has extensive knowledge of law balanced with empath...y for the client in his service. He knows what to do and when, and is very conscientious with fees involved. I am grateful to Attorney Howard Collins for taking my case. It was thanks to my membership in Legal Shield that I found him. I stood prepared to write this regardless of the outcome, and the outcome was 100% favorable.

Highly recommended

Howard is a very nice guy. He is honest, practical, reasonable and worked with us in a way no other attorney would have. He gave us advice before he took us on and then gave us the best advice for our situation which ultimately prevented us from going through a long court battle. He also is very know...ledgeable of family law. I personally used a lawyer for a divorce a few years earlier and he did not give me a lot of information that I wish I would have received. I wish I had used Howard for that because he truly helped draw up the perfect paperwork for our needs. He was in constant communication with the other parties lawyer and he was right on top of pointing out things that the other parties lawyer was trying to place into the documents that, by law, had no reason to be there. I would highly recommend him.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2017.

Reprimand issued in OR, 2017

updated on 07/31/2017

This means the lawyer did something wrong but the bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
