Very lazy

Howard does not prepare for court. More than once he came to court not knowing the facts of the case. One time he was even advocating for my ex-wife by calling me names. In a court of law, he advocated for my ex-wife to have custody

Garbage

Howard left me hanging multiple times in court. I sat there waiting for a lawyer to appear and he showed up late. Not knowing the facts of the case and not working for me at all. If you wish to fight for custody of your kids, then don't hire this guy

GOOD START VERY POOR FINISH

Mr. Collins in my opinion did a great job in the beginning of my case dealing with visitation rights for me and my son. However, after months went by without a word from Mr. Collins, I would call, and email questions and concerns which were not being returned. I was at the point where I felt like I ...needed to be pestering or annoying just to get a response. I did not get a response from phone calls, or emails, after two years of trying to get something accomplished I presumed we were finished or perhaps nothing further needed to be done. I recently got a letter saying he was terminating our agreement and is no longer going to represent me. Talk about your "Take my money and ditch" feeling. I still have an open case and need to hire another attorney just to finish what was started. I would not recommend this person unfortunately.

Two Girls

I have had a great experience with Howard. He is representing my two daughters. He is fantastic with children and it is a joy to know my very young girls see him as a playmate / friend. He gets down on the floor with the children and plays, talks at their level. I feel safe with him making good c...hoices for them to keep my girls safe. We are finally making progress with having Howard aboard. His knowledge in juvenile, domestic and criminal court is fantastic and just what our case needed for these girls. I would recommend Howard to anyone. He is fair with his billing as well. My youngest was suprised by him the other day when he showed up to support her. She ran back over to him and gave him a huge hug and said, " I love my big Howard!"

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2017.

Reprimand issued in OR, 2017

updated on 07/31/2017

This means the lawyer did something wrong but the bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
